Just when school started I had trouble coming up with the right topics to write about for my college essays. However, after meeting with Sylvia for the first time, my ideas started flowing and I was able to elaborate more clearly after I gave her a summary of what I have done throughout high school. She sat down with me and strategically helped me sort and choose the best topics I would write for my essays. In addition, she suggested creative methods to start the essays and an organized outline for my ideas. Giving me a flexible schedule to write each individual essay, I finished feeling confident and not stressed. In the end, her help got me into many of my top schools! I cannot thank her enough!

Applying to colleges can be very stressful since it is not always easy to know which direction to start in, especially the writing of the application essays. You don’t know what the application readers looking for and what they like to see, but with Sylvia’s help, the process went very smoothly in both the college choosing process and the actual application portion itself. For the first session, for about one and half hours, the time was used to get to know me through the questionnaire she provided. Sylvia not only gave me guidelines on how to write essays, but also helped look for the colleges we wanted in detail. Throughout the multiple sessions, I wrote about 7 essays, and Sylvia gave me a timeline on how soon the essays had to be turned in. It did not take Sylvia very long to return the essays with quick edits that really made the essay so much better while still keeping the original voice. Additionally, I knew what my major would be and Sylvia even gave me suggestions of volunteer opportunities to add on to my college applications, which I really appreciated since it exceeded my expectations. As a result, I got accepted by my first choice of college!! Sylvia is responsive, efficient, professional, punctual, knowledgeable, and won’t waste your time. I highly recommendation her!!!

Coming into this, I had already written a couple of essays but I did not believe they showed off the  best aspects of myself to present to colleges. Sitting down with Sylvia, I explained some of the events in my life that I wanted to include and from there she helped me choose several events that I could highlight in my essays that I was happy with. She helped me organize my essay from start to finish which was extremely helpful when writing it. Overall, Sylvia was instrumental in helping me get acceptance offers from my top choice colleges and even the reach schools.

We worked with Sylvia starting the summer of my son’s junior year. Sylvia started off with a list of
questionnaires for him to think about and to complete. I have to say, those questions were very well thought out; they weren’t easy to answer; it gave me a glimpse of the person my son aspired to be, information that was also reluctantly shared by him on a regular basis. She then gave us ideas of extracurricular activities for the summer to shore up his college applications.

Sylvia was very knowledgeable with college requirements. She gave great suggestions and help with essay topic selections, personal statement, and supplemental essays. She set goals and deadlines so there was always time for some back and forth correspondences.

We are grateful for Sylvia’s help during this whole process. She made the entire experience that much
easier and so much less stressful as what we had expected it to be.
